On May 31, 2017 the press conference of the RKF Board was held in “Selenga” hall of the World Trade Centre Moscow. Mr. Aleksandr Inshakov, RKF President, and RKF Board members took part in this event. The representatives of leading mass media, TV channels, cynological print media attended the press conference.

As a result of the RKF Board meeting, that was held on May 11, 2016, a famous sports and statesman Mr. Leonid Tyagachev was elected as a Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the World Dog Show – 2016.
After the appointment of Mr. Tyagachev the RKF acquires a talented and an experienced organizer of major international social and sports events.
In his new position of the Chairman of the WDS Organizing Committee Mr. Tyagachev will focus on solving current issues and implementing the best Russian and foreign exprerience in order to organize the World Dog Show - 2016 as a brilliant and memorable event for all Russian and foreign breeders!
Brief biographical information
Leonid Tyagachev was born on October 10, 1946 in Moscow region. At the age of 16 he became a master of sports in Alpine skiing.
In 1976 he was appointed as a head coach of the national Alpine skiing team of the Soviet Union. Three years later the USSR national Alpine skiing team became as the best team in the world, and in 1981 Mr. Tyagachev was named the best coach in the world in this kind of sport.
Since 1995 – a Minister of Sports and Tourism of Russia.
Since November 1, 1996 – a Chairman of the State Committee for Physical Culture and Tourism.
On July 18, 2001 Mr. Tyagachev was unanimously elected as a President of the Russian Olympic Committee.
Counsellor to the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation.
Senator of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation.
Honored Russian Coach. In 1999 Mr. Tyagachev was awarded with the Order of Honor for his high achievements in developing physical culture and sports and for his great contribution to the athletes preparation for the XVIII Olympic Winter Games in 1998. In October 2001, he was awarded with the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" IV class.
